How Do I Put a Screensaver on My Samsung TV?

Make the most of your Samsung SMART TV when you're not watching it by running a screensaver. Samsung's built-in options are limited, so we'll cover those first — then show you the better way: a looping video screensaver.

Using Samsung's Built-In Ambient Mode

  1. Switch on your Samsung TV.
  2. Press the Home icon on your remote to open the TV's Home page.
  3. Use the directional buttons to find and select Ambient Mode (called Art Mode on The Frame).
  4. Choose from Samsung's built-in screensaver options.

Ambient Mode is fine for static art and photos, but it can't loop a video. For that, read on.

How to Put a VIDEO Screensaver on a Samsung TV

  1. Download a video to your PC or Android/Samsung phone — it will land in your Downloads folder.
  2. Copy the video file to any USB flash drive or external hard drive. Even a tiny, cheap stick works — our videos are compact files.
  3. Plug the USB drive into your TV.
  4. Press Home on your remote, then select Devices (or Connected Devices on newer models).
  5. Click on the USB drive and select the video file to start playing.
  6. Select Repeat — your Samsung TV now has a looping manual video screensaver.

What's the Best Screensaver for a Samsung SMART TV?

You can loop any video you like, but the best screensaver videos are static scenes filmed on a tripod — the camera never moves, so the loop point is almost seamless. That's exactly how every Uscenes video is made, giving you three options for your idle Samsung TV:

  1. Turn your TV into a fish tank with one of our aquarium videos.
  2. Make your TV a virtual fireplace with one of our fireplace videos — all the cozy glow, none of the cost or risk.
  3. Transform your TV into a nature window with a scenery video.

Think of them as background videos to glance at occasionally — great for encouraging conversation and reading instead of trash TV. Every video is a one-time MP4 download in 4K UHD and Full HD, with relaxing surround-sound audio. No ads, no subscription, and downloads are completely free of branding or promo text.

Our best-known aquarium started life as Coral Garden, a real fish tank inspired by Finding Nemo that our videographer built himself (we learned the hard way how much work a real tank is). Its promo has over 7 million views on YouTube, and the extended, remastered version is now available as The Living Aquarium. Check it out today and see what your Samsung TV can really do.
