Devon, in the south of England has some lovely cottages. There is nothing better on a cold winters night than building a warm toasty fire to relax with. The snow was falling fast and unfortunately for me, all the wood was in a little out house round the back of the cottage. I put on my boots and coat and wandered out in the snow. The owner of the cottage was kind enough to put a little wheel barrow out by the logs, which surprisingly were all very dry. I managed to tilt the barrow through the back door and emptied a huge pile of logs by the fireplace.

I had been out that day filming a corporate video and was so tired that I couldn't wait to relax with a good book, warming my feet on a lovely little fire. I was a few pages in when I stopped to appreciate this soothing fireplace that was in front of me. The flames were so calming and I was almost in a trance when I thought to myself, "Wouldn't this make a fantastic screensaver?" I had really never thought of filming a fireplace video before, but I thought "why not?" and "wouldn't it be great if other people who didn't have a fireplace could enjoy this like I am?"

Even though I was so relaxed, I couldn't help but to grab my Red One camera and frame up this cozy little fire. I mounted up a 24mm prime and was a bit concerned that I would have to get too close to the fire. I really wanted to have a nice deep depth of field in this shot and wanted all of the fireplace to be in focus. I began to record and periodically check the camera for heat. Everything was fine and I managed to shoot a 20 minute video for Uscenes that really captured the moment.

Once I had finished it was back to the book but I was proud to capture a really relaxing moment. Whenever I watch this video I remember that cosy little cottage in Devon.

Video and Screensaver Information:

• Full HD MP4 videos are approx. 20 minute 1080p footage suitable for all TV screens. Approx. 500 MB to 1.3 GB download. We use the H.264 codec which allows us to compress the files to a manageable download size, whilst maintaining excellent quality.
• 4K Ultra HD MP4 videos are around 1.2-1.6 GB for UHD televisions. We have encoded these videos in the superior H.265 (HEVC) codec, which means faster download speeds. 
• The computer screensavers are self looping 3 minute versions in Full HD for Windows and Mac PCs and laptops (approx. 100 MB to 230 MB).  The 4K Ultra HD screensavers are also 3 minutes and loop automatically (approx. 200 MB to 350 MB) . 

Some of the MP4 videos are looped to make up the 20 minutes.
